WASHINGTON, D.C. — Joseph Gawler’s Sons, the funeral home to presidents, announced the addition of Duane E. Hills as vice president, according to a news release. Hills, a 33-year veteran of the funeral industry, brings a wide range of expertise in customer service, staff development and mentoring.

Hills will be responsible for staff operations and will work closely with our team of professionals to provide continuous training and education. He will play an integral role in working with the families we serve both pre-need and after experiencing a loss. Mr. Hills has worked for funeral homes and memorial parks throughout the Dignity Memorial network for nearly 17 years as a general manager for several locations in Texas and New York. Previously, he owned two successful funeral homes in New York. Mr. Hills worked as a licensed funeral director before starting his own business. He is licensed in New York, Texas, Virginia, and Washington, D.C.
