PIMS Students Support Children's Grief Awareness Day

PITTSBURGH –The entire student body, faculty and staff, at Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science recently showed its support for Children's Grief Awareness Day on Nov. 15 by wearing something blue.

Children's Grief Awareness Day is observed annually the Thursday before Thanksgiving and is recognized throughout the United States and in many countries around the world. Children' Grief Awareness Day is an opportunity to let grieving children know that they are not forgotten in the midst of their grief.

Additionally, PIMS students visit The Caring Place, a center for grieving children, adolescents, and their families. The Caring Place has hosted everyone PIMS class for many years and is also supported by the Allegheny County Funeral Directors Association.

PIMS is a proud sponsor of Children's Grief Awareness Day.
