FDLIC Named to Ward’s Top 50 List for 2013

ABILENE, Texas – Funeral Directors Life Insurance Company has been named to the 2013 Ward’s 50 list of top performing life-health insurance companies, according to a news release. This marks the third consecutive year that FDLIC has been recognized by the Ward Group.

The Ward Group is a leading provider of benchmarking and best practices services for the insurance industry. The Ward Group conducts an annual analysis of nearly 800 life-health insurance companies domiciled in the United States, identifying the top performing companies which are named to the Ward’s 50 list. “Each company has passed all safety and consistency screens and achieved superior performance over the five years analyzed,” stated a press release from the Ward Group.

To be named to the list, a company must pass the initial safety and consistency tests, which include having over $50 million in surplus for the years being analyzed; adjusted net income in at least four of the last five years; and compound annual growth in premiums between - 10 and +40 percwnt. In addition, the company is evaluated based on results of operations and key performance standards. Of the companies that pass these tests, only the top 50 performers make the list.

FDLIC’s recognition by the Ward Group indicates the company’s outstanding financial results in the areas of safety, consistency and performance over a five year period (2008-2012).

“We are very honored by this recognition,” said Kris Seale, FDLIC’s president and CEO. “For many consumers and clients, it is difficult to determine who they can trust to protect their hard-earned assets in the insurance industry. Benchmarks like the Ward’s Top 50 are crucial in helping to identify the top insurance companies in the nation when it comes to safety, consistency and performance. FDLIC always strives to be the best, most-respected provider of service, and we are proud to be named to this prestigious list of the top 50 life-health insurance companies in the nation.”
