Homesteaders Named to Ward’s 50 Top Performers for Fifth Consecutive Year

DES MOINES, IOWA — Ward Group, an independent firm specializing in insurance industry benchmarking and best practices, has included Homesteaders Life Company in its 2013 list of 50 top performing life and health insurers in the United States. Nearly 800 life-health insurance companies were analyzed for this year’s benchmarking, according to a news release.

Each company must pass certain safety and consistency screens and achieve superior performance over a five-year period prior to being recognized among the top 50.

During the webinar announcing 2013’s top 50, Jeff Rieder partner and head of Ward Group® discussed how these firms compare to the industry. “Ward Group’s research consistently finds top performing companies operate with fewer resources without deteriorating the customer experience or financial stability of the company,” Rieder said.

“Being part of Ward’s 50 top performers for a fifth consecutive year is an important affirmation of the choice made by funeral home owners across the country to offer Homesteaders as the secure and safe choice for their families and their businesses,” says Graham Cook, Homesteaders chairman and president.

COO Steve Lang adds, “Homesteaders exists for one reason – to pay claims. Our conservative operating philosophy is centered around ensuring the long-term security of our policy owners, funeral home customers and employees. We are pleased Ward Group has recognized the success of our efforts to honor this commitment long into the future.”

Homesteaders Life Company is focused solely on funeral insurance funding and support and according to a recent study, is the most often used pre-need funding company in America.
