PHOENIX – Thomas-Pierce & Co., which has assisted hundreds of family owned funeral homes and cemeteries with valuations, succession planning, mergers and acquisitions over the past three decades has agreed to merge with Johnson Consulting Group, according to a news release.
“The recent death of founder Jon Thomas represents a loss of an industry visionary and icon, as well as, a valuable resource for funeral and cemetery owners,” said Jake Johnson,president of Johnson Consulting Group. “We look forward to continuing his legacy in the newly combined company.”
Although Johnson Consulting Group (JCG) has expanded its services to include management and accounting services, consumer surveys and cash flow based loans for acquisitions; JCG’s core business remains mergers and acquisitions. Jon Thomas’ wife, Patsy, and son, Jon (JT), have entered into referral agreements with JCG and will continue to support the combined enterprise.
Additionally, Karen McCurdy, senior financial analyst/senior project manager with Thomas-Pierce & Co., will join Johnson Consulting Group in the same role.
McCurdy has a thorough understanding of the mergers and acquisition process in funeral service. She received a bachelor's degree from Florida State University in 1991, and is a state certified general appraiser and licensed real estate broker.
