By Luis Llorens, president, U.S. Cremation Equipment
The recent death of Cal Wilkerson, V.P. of Marketing for U.S. Cremation Equipment, left a hole in our hearts. Cal was a founder of our company and a much-loved and respected member of our corporate family. He was considered to be the “face” of U.S. Cremation Equipment – the person customers dealt with most frequently and the fellow people drank a beer with at industry trade shows. They share our sadness in losing him after his brief bout with cancer.
How does a company survive and even thrive after the loss of such a well-known executive? Luckily, a face is just one part of the body. Cal leaves behind a management team and engineering staff with combined experience exceeding 75 years – a “body” of colleagues and co-workers dedicated to the company ideals which Cal represented so well – leading-edge technology, exceptional customer service and a history of reliable, cost-effective, fuel-efficient cremation systems. Cal’s most significant professional legacy is the sound company he helped to shape and which continues to gain strength in his absence.
While the face of U.S. Cremation Equipment may be different, the company is even stronger than ever, having experienced record sales in the past few months. We know Cal is pleased.
Our customers from around the world join us in saying “good-bye” to Cal. Adios. Tchau. Kin chao. Hooroo. We’ll see you again.
