SPOKANE, Wa. - One of the first businesses in the nation to specialize in the production of premium custom tribute videos for the funeral services industry, Memories By Design is now operating under the new leadership of husband and wife team, Bruce Felt and Nadine Woodward-Felt.
When co-founder Barb Gustin formed the company in 2002, it was instrumental in developing the very first video process for the funeral industry… a method for blending photos, custom background scenery and custom music into a stable, versatile platform.
“My mission had always been to assist our funeral directors in bringing comfort, healing and memories to families in their time of need by creating high-quality Memory Keepsake videos,” Gustin said. “I am so excited to have new owners like Bruce and Nadine who are so devoted to carrying on our mission, and when you add their expertise this makes for such a perfect fit.” While the ownership change took place Jan. 1, Gustin continued to provide consultation and support during the transition.
With nearly 30 years in broadcast television as a marketing and promotion executive, Felt is excited to bolster Memories by Design’s record for excellent customer service and exceptional products services.
“The strength of the company lies in its unique ability to produce outstanding handcrafted custom videos using a trained, skilled and most importantly, compassionate staff. This allows the funeral homes to focus on their specific responsibilities and services, while the families can address their personal matters,” said Bruce Felt, president.
Woodward-Felt has been a broadcast television news anchor in the Pacific Northwest for nearly 30 years. Last June, she was inducted into the Silver Circle for the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for her 25+ years of community service and dedication to the industry.
“When you combine our background in video production, marketing and broadcast television with what the MBD team already has in place, our goal of increasing the services and options available to our customers and families can be achieved,” Woodward-Felt said.
Already, important customer-focused improvements are being seen with technical software upgrades, a rollout of new theme packages including Hispanic, Irish, Catholic and Gospel, the new Memories By Design “Community Outreach Initiative” designed to support our customers’ efforts to serve their respective local communities, and a website re-design offering user-friendly navigation, information and tools.
“Quality customer service is our highest priority. In fact, our mission is a simple one - help our customers succeed,” Felt said.
As president, Felt will oversee day-to-day operations while Woodward-Felt will continue to anchor the 5, 6 and 11pm newscasts for Spokane's ABC affiliate and be actively involved as much as possible.
