LINCOLN, Neb. – Butherus, Maser & Love Funeral Home raised $2,100 for the Food Bank of Lincoln from its fifth annual prom event held July 10, according to a news release.
The proceeds were raised from ticket sales and additional donations during the evening.
"We are currently distributing $5.70 worth of food for every dollar that comes in, so we will turn that $2,100 into $11,970 worth of food," said Scott Young from the Food Bank of Lincoln.
Prom-goers enjoyed an evening of entertainment at the PlaMor Ballroom, including plenty of dancing to music from the Bobby Layne Orchestra, cookies and punch, and the opportunity to have their photo taken in a photo booth. In line with this year’s theme, "A Christmas in July Celebration," guests also got the chance to meet the special guests, Santa and Mrs. Claus.
Butherus, Maser & Love would like to thank everyone who came out to support a wonderful cause, as well as contributing event sponsor Home Instead Senior Care.
