SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – Federated Funeral Directors of America’s Rebecca Stoedter recently completed the credentialing process with the American Institute of CPAs, gaining the designation of Accredited in Business Valuations. The ABV Credential, established in 1998 by the AICPA, is granted to qualified CPAs who have demonstrated considerable expertise in valuation through knowledge, skills and experience.

Stoedter met extensive requirements to earn the ABV credential, which include passing a rigorous exam, demonstrating significant business experience with the completion of business valuation engagements and completing over 75 hours of education in the area of valuation.

Stoedter, who has been with Federated for nearly six years, has also been named the manager of the valuation and transaction services department.

“We are very pleased to have such a strong professional leading our valuation department,” said Fabrice Moriaux, executive director.

Stoedter has a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Illinois and is a certified public accountant. The valuation and transaction services department at Federated offers comprehensive succession planning services and assists funeral homes in structuring a plan that accomplishes the business’s transition goals.
