STERLING, Va. – Christine Toson Hentges, president of The Tribute Companies Inc., Hartland, Wisconsin, was elected president-elect during the International Cemetery, Cremation and Funeral Association’s 2017 Annual Convention & Exposition, April 5-8, in Nashville, Tennessee.
Hentges is a fourth-generation cemeterian and is active in the ICCFA leadership, having served as co-chair of the ICCFA Women’s Forum and as a member of the association’s ad hoc dues committee. She is a past president of the Wisconsin Cemetery & Cremation Association and the Central States Cemetery Association. She has served as the program chairwoman for many educational programs run by these organizations and has written articles for various trade publications. She is a frequent speaker at seminars and workshops across the country and has been an instructor at the ICCFA’s premier educational forum, ICCFA University. She holds a Certified Cemetery Executive designation in recognition of her extensive cemetery management experience and skills.
In 2014, she was one of 12 recipients of the biennial annual Wisconsin Governor’s Trailblazer Award, recognizing the legacy of women’s business ownership in the state. She was honored in the Torchbearer category, referring to companies operating for three or more generations currently owned by female relatives.
Hentges volunteers her time locally as a counselor for Camp Hope, a weekend camp for grieving children and teens. She is also a board member for Rogers Memorial Hospital Foundation and the Lutheran Homes of Oconomowoc. She has volunteered as a community fair organizer for the Delafield Chamber of Commerce.
