Kentucky Funeral Directors Association Makes Donations to Hurricane Victims

FRANKFORT, Kentucky — The Alan L. Leichhardt Endowment Fund, Inc., a charitable arm of the Funeral Directors Association of Kentucky, has made donations to the victims of the hurricanes to hit the United States in recent weeks.

A total of $7,000 was sent to organizations including Samaritan’s Purse and the American Red Cross, assisting the victims of the massive storms that left a path of destruction across Texas, Florida and Puerto Rico.

The Alan L. Leichardt Endowment Fund, Inc. was established in 2006 to honor Alan Leichhardt, the former executive director of the Funeral Directors Association of Kentucky. The Fund was established to provide aid to relieve human suffering in the form of funds, goods or services to individuals and groups affected by natural/civil disasters and other events causing human affliction and/or distress.

Gifts to the Fund can serve to commemorate a loved one, honor a friend or celebrate an event. Each gift is acknowledged to the donor and a card announcing the gift is sent to the honoree or their family. All gifts are tax deductible.
